Talking Points on Repeal of HB 194
- Shortens mail-in voting from 5 to 3 weeks and in person voting from 5 weeks to 2 weeks.
- Eliminates early voting opportunities in the evenings, Saturday afternoons, and Sundays.
- Takes away party identification from third party candidates on the ballot.
- Requires minimum precinct sizes only in municipalities for longer lines in urban areas.
- Poll workers are not required to tell voters they are in the wrong precinct.
- Stops the county Board of Elections from sending absentee ballot applications to all voters.

Who Can Sign the Petition?
- Voters must be registered in the county designated for the given petition.
- Circulators should not sign their own petition (such a signature would not be valid).
- Only registered Ohio voters should sign the petition. This includes new registrants with completed registration form.
Information for Circulators:
- A circulator must be a U.S. citizen.
- A circulator cannot have a felony conviction for which s/he is still on probation.
- FEO is only asking individuals 18 years of age or older to circulate petitions.
- You are not required to be a registered voter to circulate petitions.
- Someone from another state is legally permitted to circulate a petition
- Each signature must be witnessed by the circulator.
- You must complete the Statement of Solicitor Page.
- Circulators should ask every person to print legibly and sign their name.
- Signer should complete all fields, except Ward/Precinct, which is not required.
- If anything other than the signature is missing, circulator may fill in the appropriate information.
- Signer is to put the address at which s/he is registered.
- No PO Boxes.
- Signature must be in ink.
- FEO recommends blue or black ink.
- Registration forms must be submitted within 10 days. (Include these completed registration forms with petitions.)
